Smart Rule Feedback

I use smart rules to perform not only actions which are common, but also some which are uncommon; one - for example - is automatically moving expired documents to trash. I would quite like to be notified when those uncommon things happen - I thought that might be what the “display notification” or “display alert” action was for. It would seem, however, that the notification/alert is showed whenever the smart rule runs - even if the conditions are not fulfilled, ie no files are moved to trash.

So, if that is the case (and not a bug) then please allow me to request the following feature: display action when smart rule conditions are fulfilled (as far a I am concerned I wouldn’t ever need to be told if a smart rule was triggered (e.g. by the “daily” trigger) but didn’t do anything)

Scheduled smart rules are not only executed if there are items matching the conditions, therefore this is indeed the expected behaviour. One workaround might be to use an embedded script action instead which could check the number of items.
