I began with the included Smart Rule to File by ISO Date, but I want to alter it to adjust the Date metadata to match the date in the filename. I’m not sure if any of the options shown in the screenshot allow this, so I guess it needs a more complex solution?
What’s the format of the date in the name? YYYY-MM-DD? Then these actions should work:
- Scan Name > Date > *
- Change Date to Document Date

The first action just scans the complete name for a date, the second action uses the found Document Date to change the custom metadata.
