Smart rules only for administrators?

Super Important Point Follows

If someone has access to DT3 Desktop and wants to intentionally wreak havoc with your data, there are infinite ways it can be done without smart rules. As but one example, ponder what a rogue employee could accomplish in just 1 minute with the “Tools - Batch Process Command” feature.

My suggestion about notifying you about a smart rule change would be simply to alert you that someone inadvertently ran a smart rule and then presumably you could roll back your database to your most recent snapshot.

But truly the big picture is - DT3 is incredibly powerful software. DT3 Desktop access should only be given to employees whom you implicitly trust. Any workarounds to notify about “security” issues should be focused toward inadvertent errors.

I would suggest that if you truly need/want the power of DT3 for searching/sorting/archiving data and have a situation where you cannot or do not have implicit trust in your data entry personnel, one solution might be to split up your data entry process from your main database. Give your low-level employee access to only an “intake” database. Then come up with a system where you or someone trusted regularly imports that data into the main archival database that only you have access to. That way you would limit the damage an employee could do to one day’s work.
