Devonthink 3.9.8, MacOS 15.3.2
Leaving for the record, solution: I had at some point checked View >> Show Only Documents. PEBKAC error, as usual. Many thanks to u/troejgaard for the solution.
I’ve noticed an interesting anomaly in the way the top level of one of my databases is presented.
In the List view, the top level groups are missing; it’s like the database is empty. In the Column view, the top level appears as expected. (Icon and Cover Flow views behave the same as List view.) See screenshots below.
This is probably my oldest and largest database, going back to 2007 and Devonthink 1. I have tried Verify & Repair, Optimize, and Rebuild with no change.
EDIT: Just discovered the same is true for groups within the database. If the group has subgroups, they do not appear in list view, only individual items directly under the selected group show up. Again, other DBs do not reflect this behavior.
EDIT 2: Adding to the strangeness, I just checked on another instance) on another Mac and the database in question, which is sync’d, displays as it should. I’m tempted to make a copy of the “good” version, stop the sync, and replace the troublesome one. Any forseeable issues here?
Any idea what’s going on and how to fix the presentation?
