Some fields in inspector side panel are sometimes not available for a document

Please excuse what is doubtless a newbie question…
When I load a document into DevonThink3 and in the right panel choose the “i” view, some documents I cannot add comments or keywords, others I can.
What is the differentiator, or how do I enable this on all documents?
MacBookPro M1 running latest Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)

Thanks, really helpful.
Most of my docs are Type = PDF + Text (imported from websites via Devon tool) and none of them allow entry in the i > Properties > Comment field… so I guess Comment is not an available property for PDFs?

Correct. The Comment field applies to rich text documents.
Use the Finder Comment field in the Annotations & Reminders inspector instead.
