What kind of tag (ordinary or group tag)? And are unified tags en- or disabled, see Settings > General > Interface > Sidebar?

So far we couldn’t reproduce this using the same settings. Are you able to reproduce this using a new, simple database that you could share?
Yes, it’s easy to reproduce.
I set a new database up, and arranged a tag group like this:
( I made tag “a4” an aliases named “b1”)
And I created a new Markdown file name “test”, then tag it with “b1”.
I used the tag “a4” to reveal tag, and the problem happened again.
