The controls are not visible and I can’t add or refresh. Even after I exit and restart DT3 it stays so I can’t do any screen capture.
This is a known issue that will be addressed in the next maintenance release. You can clear the Sorter and recover that screen capture by doing this…
- Quit DEVONthink.
- In the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library.
- Go into Application Support/DEVONthink 3/UnifiedCapture. Your image should be there.
- Move the image out of this directory, e.g., to your desktop or to the Global Inbox’s alias.
- Relaunch DEVONthink.
In the interim, please make use of macOS’ built-in screen capture functions if you need to capture a tall, narrow area.

I have the same problem but no such folder in Library/Application Support. Is that a problem? It appears that you pointed to the OP to that folder to recover a DT3 screenshot. I can’t take a screenshot from the Sorter because all the controls are gone. Restarting DT3, or indeed the whole machine, does not restore this function. Is there no workaround till the next release? Any idea when that will be?
