Sorter only starts with DT

Dear all,
I do like the Sorter and have it always running. Unfortunately with DT 3 it only starts when the DT program has been launched. In previous DT versions the Sorter was always present even though the DT program wasn’t active.
Have I missed to tick a box somewhere?

The completely new Sorter is now part of DEVONthink and not independent anymore.
