Sorter rendered unusable / backup file unavailable

I’ve a strange bug/problem with the sorter:
(my main database was named “Default”, I dragged it into the sorter, renamed it later on)

  • the “Default” is still in the Sorter
  • I can’t throw it away or drag a new Database/Inbox into it because he’s naggin about a missing "backup"file…
  • every click I do, inside DT, the Finder or anywhere else pops up this error-message
  • searching for the missing “Default.sorter” does’nt help because its missing
  • (see attachment with the error msg, in german)

I tried to delete & reinstall the sorter, the global inbox… nothing helped.

Thanks for the bug report, we’ll check this issue. You shouldn’t drag databases into the Sorter, only groups.

To fix the problem, quit the Sorter (kill it via Apple’s Activity Monitor if necessary) and delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink Sorter.

WARNING: Only if the Sorter doesn’t contain any data!

Thanks, deleting the folder “~/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink Sorter” and restarting the Sorter did the trick.

(I dragged the inboxes, not the databases into it, just to be clear on that in case you are trying to reproduce the bug…)
