Hi, I’ve recently come back to DT and I’m now trying to import my iBooks exported note file. I could import it in a formatted note but I’m struggling to split it in multiple notes. The original export file was taken from an email ( through iBooks share), I imported it as a formatted note but I’d like to split the whole file (which contains 300+ highlights and notes) into multiple records in DT. Has someone experienced a similar situation? I guess it could be made through applescript but I’m (almost) a zero in scripting 
The easiest workaround is probably to convert the document to RTF and to use Edit > Split Document afterwards.
Yes cgrunenberg, thanks for your reply. The point is that the file contains more than 300 text ‘snippets’ (quotes or quotes + annotations)…and splitting it manually could be a pain
