I have a Synology NAS and am wondering if it makes sense to store DTPO databases there?
Are there are any advantages-disadvantages to this practice?
It’s not an issue as long as you’re not trying to access the database from multiple machines or accounts simultaneously.
If you have a laptop, unless you have the NAS configured for WebDAV access remotely, you will not have your databases available when you are out of your network. Also, if the drive fails, you won’t have the databases available either.
I use WebDAV on a Synology NAS for sync and it works very well. It’s quite zippy.
I know Criss has an NAS he likes quite a bit.
