Wouldn’t it be great if you could have new documents that are created in the Finder, say in Documents, automatically be added to your database?

You could use folder actions for this task, e.g. attach the Scripts > Folder Actions > Action Import script (see downloaded disk image of DEVONthink Pro) to certain folders.
