I am very disappointed by the fact that DEVONthink To Go stops synchronising after license expiration (and To Go is useless without sync). Probably I misread the license, but my understanding is that everything will kept working as it was except the ability to get updates; so this was not the abusive “pay us more or lose” terms of other companies. I could wait a few months until I upgrade, as it often do. Realising that the ew terms are just “subscription under other name” is a bit heartbreaking.
On iOS, we cannot prevent apps from receiving updates, that’s just the way the App Store works. Free access to DEVONthink To Go is one of the benefits when you extend your license. You can, of course, at any time simply get a an App Store subscription for DEVONthink To Go which also gives you access to all new features and improvements that we develop. We also reduced its price from what it was before we introduced version 4.
Thanks. That’s not ideal, but at least will serve me as a bridge until I upgrade the Pro License (I just tested it and it works)
@eboehnisch Could you clarify something? If I decide to temporarily skip the DT4 extension and switch to the App Store subscription for awhile, do I need to reinstall DT2Go again, or is the subscription automatically activated on my existing version?
It worked automatically for me, the only thing I needed to do was to click on “Restore purchases” after subscribing
Thank you for the reply. Did you go to the App Store or did you set the subscription from within the app?
