Syncing - just checking to make sure I've understood things

I’m setting up my new main computer and I’m re-thinking many things while doing this, one of them is my use of Dropbox. I would like to use Dropbox as little as possible, preferably not at all.

Anyway, I’m using DTPO & DTTG and I of course want to sync between these. I’m currently using Dropbox for syncing but would like to move away from this. If I understand the docs correctly iCloud Drive isn’t an alternative for me, and if I also remove Box and CloudMe my only choice seem to be WebDAV.

Since I have a Synology NAS at home it would be much work to set this up.

Three questions:

1 - Have I understood things correctly?

2 - Is there any difference in reliability for the syncing depending of the service used?

3 - Are there any issues I should be aware of before selecting service?

You almost have it right.

DTTG2 can only Sync via Bonjour, WebDAV (including WebDAV enabled services like CloudMe), or Dropbox specifically.

Bonjour is only available on the local network but should be the fastest option.

Any remote Sync location will have inherent weaknesses due to the variability of network connections, server responses, etc.

Other than keeping your databases out of ANY cloud-synced folder, there’s nothing specific I would consider when comparing the services. They are all essentially the same.

Thanks
