I have both DEVONthink Pro Office and DEVONthink To Go. I’m setting everything up, but there are a few things I’m trying to figure out. I’ll be using Dropbox as my sync location.
With DEVONthink on Mac OS, is it possible to only sync some databases to the sync location/Dropbox and not others? What about syncing only some files from a database (to be synced to the sync location)?
With DTTG, is there a way to sync manually, for both the ‘download everything’ and ‘download on demand’ features? In other words, is there a way to not have the changes be synced while making changes to a file, but rather being able to choose when to sync, such as after you’ve finished working on a file?
Lastly, if I upload files to the DEVONthink folder in my Dropbox—from other apps—will they show up in DEVONthink?
Yes. You’re just checking a checkbox for the ones you want to Sync.

No. Sync is not merely copying your files or database to the Sync location. You should never mess about in the DEVONthink Packet Sync folder of any Sync location.

This is certainly an approach people use. I personally advocate it as I’m not one to try and store EVERYTHING I have on every device I have. Just as it is with going out of town: I travel light(-ly, for the pedantic ).
