Syncing via Dropbox between computers not working

I followed the tutorial on how to sync databases using Dropbox. I took one of my databases on my laptop, set it up to sync via Dropbox, and then went to my desktop machine, did an “Import Database” under Sync preferences, found my database, and imported it. It seemed to import fine, but it’s empty - none of the documents in the database on my laptop are in the database on my desktop.

I’ve tried syncing repeatedly on both sides, tried deleting the dropbox database and redoing it all from the beginning, and nothing changed - I can’t seem to get the documents on one side onto the other side, despite the fact that they’re “sharing” the same remote database.

Am I missing something?
