Technically naive question re CPU performance…

Say “a friend” is thinking about a new Mac desktop on which DT4 would be one of the primary apps.

  1. Desktop A has 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU M5 Pro chip
  2. Desktop B has 18-core CPU and 40-core GPU M5 Max chip.

Both would have 48GB RAM.

Am I right in thinking that unless I want to run local AI models seriously, which I don’t my friend doesn’t, A and B will both run DT4 equally quickly?

I.e. they both have similar CPUs-cores and RAM, and if the extra GPU-cores are only really relevant for graphics- and/or AI-intensive workloads, it’s not worth getting the more expensive model purely in terms of DT4 (and similar software like Tinderbox)?

DEVONthink should run the same on both.
