The best way to quick save anything (from web, documents, images) into the DT inbox?

Hi all,

After moving away from Hazel, I’ve been using a different workflow over the past year or so (inspired by a post here in the DEVONtechnologies Community DEVONtechnologies Community - Where DEVONtechnologies users meet ). I created an “Inbox” folder on my Mac and set DEVONthink to index it, so anything I saved there would appear in my DEVONthink inbox.

Unfortunately, this setup hasn’t worked very well for me. I’ve run into issues like duplicate files, items not always updating properly, and occasionally even missing files. For context, this folder was not inside any cloud sync system (no iCloud, Dropbox, etc.).

So I’m revisiting my workflow and wondering if the community has better suggestions.

I know there’s a global DEVONthink inbox (from the add-ons), but:

  1. It never seems to appear for me anywhere.

  2. I don’t think I can access its location through Default Folder X or other file managers.

I’d love to hear how others handle getting files quickly and reliably into the global inbox — ideally in a way that lets me save directly to it from anywhere.

Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Z

Created it where ?

Indeed as it’s available in the Save dialogs and the Global Inbox is omnipresent.
