Is there a way in DT Pro to find or recognize the path of an item after a search? Put another way, I want to search a database for a character’s name. When I receive a list of files where the name appears, I want to be able to click on the file and then not only see its contents, but the path back to the group where it is stored in the database. Is there a way to do that?
Hi, Jeff. The location of each item in a search list, relative to the top level of the database, is shown under the item’s name.
Also, if you select a search result and press Command-R (Reveal), the document will be shown selected in a view window that will allow you to see its organization context.
The term “Path” is reserved for Finder location of files (not all of the files in the database have a location in the Finder) – that’s what is displayed in the Path field of the Info panel.
Thanks, CMD-R did the trick for me. I needed the Command-R to quickly see exactly where the documents in my search resided. Good stuff.
