I teach at a university and I like to keep my course materials in Devonthink. After I make a change to a presentation I need to upload it to our LMS, Blackboard. There isn’t a drag and drop capability and it has an “open file” pop up window. Is there a way to easily directly navigate to the folder where the file is located in Devonthink? I’ve been dragging the file out of Devonthink to an easily located folder and then uploading from there. This isn’t very efficient and leads to duplicate files.
Getting the file out of DEVONthink to “drag and drop” works. What you need is a “target” place which points to your University web site—your browser, or some other software. If that software has the standard Apple OSX capability to “receive” a “drop”, then it all works as you expect.
Otherwise, you have to do as you do. This not caused by DEVONthink, but by your website software using the upload feature.
We do not advocate messing about in the internals of the database. However, if the upload process on the site opens the standard macOS open panel, yes you should absolutely be able to drag and drop into the panel to upload as that is controlled by macOS, not the browser or site.
