Use both versions on the same device?

is it possible to install both versions of devonthinktogo (3 and 4) on the same device without corrupting the database?

You should not have version 3 and 4 available on the same account, on the same device. Delete the DEVONthink 3 application from the /Applications directory and reboot the machine. After rebooting, empty the system Trash. Do not run an uninstaller.

While we don’t advocate using beta software in production or with mission-critical data, yes it’s possible to have both installed on mobile.

I was gonna ask the same question.

So we are able to have both DTTG 3/4 on the same device but obviously we shouldn’t run them both at the same time. I have both version on my iPad26.

btw all my databases from DTTG3 have been transferred to DTTG 4

Can I use both though? for example. I close either 3/4 and open one of them? there shouldn’t be any issues right?

DEVONthink ToGo 4 is beta test and there surely will be issues and the developers have asked you to help find and report these issues.

It will constantly migrate between the data store versions and you will probably lose custom metadata.
