A smart rule video or two would be useful. I am still trying to get my first smart rule to even work and it’s quite simple. Running it directly doesn’t work either. Read your mentioned thread and hope you’ve got it working now? Think we all are just learning about Smart Rules as they are a new feature 
HAZEL still delivers more useful results because it can identify and process dates (even different ones) in documents.

The next release will add a new rendering option to force line breaks so that inserting two spaces at the end of every line isn’t necessary anymore.
