Using DevonThink Pro with existing OCR software

I have just purchased DevonThink Pro and would like to be able to use it with my existing OCR software. I appreciate that Office version has OCR included, but with the Pro, are we able to output the scan to a 3rd party OCR app?

I did see the Send to button in the scan screen, but when I click on it I received the message:

“Unable to Connect to OCR”

As DEVONthink Pro doesn’t include OCR, you would have to control the scanner from its own software, setting it up to use the included OCR app to perform OCR and save the resulting searchable PDF to the Finder.

At that point, you may then Import or Index the searchable PDF into your DEVONthink Pro database.
