Using DTPO across multiple computers

I’ve just started using DTPO and it’s an amazing application. I have a desktop Mac at home and a laptop I use when I’m away from home. DTPO is installed on the desktop but not yet on the laptop. I’m trying to figure out a way to use DTPO on both computers, where the database will be synchronized. i.e. I can add something on my laptop and it will be added to the database on my desktop.

I’m wondering if it would be possible to use Dropbox for this. I could store the databases in the Dropbox folder. That way, when I make changes to the databases each DTPO client will be able to see them.

Does this work? Is there anything I should be aware of before trying it out?

Are there things you should be aware of concerning DropBox? Yes. One of those is the admonition to always close the database before accessing it on another computer – otherwise, database corruption will result.

Another, which would certainly affect me with a satellite Internet connection on a rainy day, is the question as to whether the flow of data representing modifications to the database and its closing on the first computer has gone to completion when one accesses the database on the second computer.
