I want to make sure that I understand the web server feature. If I have a Mac mini on my home network that is running DT, will the web server allow me to access my database from a PC laptop only while I am on my home network, or can it be accessible via my PC if that computer is on a different network?
Also, does the web server require the Mac mini to be up and running, or can I wake the mini from the PC via the server feature?
You’d have to set up port-forwarding to access web sharing off your network. That is not something DEVONthink will do for you.
Yes, the Mac acting as the server need to be on and running the server.
Wake on network access may work but that’s controlled by the operating system, not DEVONthink.
More discussion of web sharing is covered in Help > Documentation > In & Out > Web sharing, Windows > Web Sharing, and Preferences > Server.
