Webp File - How to display?

I just learned about webp files which is a compressed file for images. I tried to save and it doesn’t look like it gets displayed on mac or in DevonThink. Any recommendations to get it to display properly?

Webp example

It would be up to Apple or a third-party to provide a QuickLook plugin.

Current browsers are able to display WebP (I’m not sure about Safari, but Firefox and Chrome certainly can display it). Apparently, Finder shows a thumbnail of the picture, and QuickLook works, too. However, Preview doesn’t do anything with it. GraphicConverter can open and display the WebP file.

If I add your file to DT3, it gets displayed correctly. What exactly is your problem? What did you do, what did you expect to happen, and what happened (or rather, didn’t happen)?

Apparently, Finder shows a thumbnail of the picture, and QuickLook works, too.

I have a fresh machine running Catalina and WebP doesn’t not QuickLook correctly.

Weird. My machine is “kinda” fresh, too, and running Catalina. I append screenshots from Finder and DT3

Looks ok to me, but may be I’m not seeing something.

Good to know that it’s an Apple and not a DT Issue. Thanks
