What happens when I move a file to DEVONthink?

Is the file duplicated and stored in the DEVONthink database? I.e. if I have a file on my desktop and move it to Dt can I then delete the file that is still on the desktop? (knowing it’s been duplicated and stored safely in Dt).

I’m a bit worried about filing all my stuff in a database because it could be aggravation if the database gets corrupted but that’s another matter. What I mean is, a file can’t get corrupted if it’s sat on my desktop.

That is an incorrect assumption. Any file can become “corrupted” anywhere.

Yes, you can delete the file after importing it, if you like. It’s a personal choice. However, there is NO link between the file in DEVONthink and the file you copied into it.
