Where is the annotation template in DT3?

Hi. In DT-Pro there was the option to create an ‘annotation’ which was a note accessed in the templates menu which would automatically link to another note. I can’t find this anymore. Has it gone? I see annotations seems to mean something different in DT3 so this may be the issue.

Hi @drjmcmillan

You can copy the annotation template from DT2 into DT3. (not sure if this is the developer’s preferred solution, but it does seem to work)

  1. In DT2 go to file menu: Data > New From Template > Open Templates Folder
  2. Copy the file called: _Annotation___Cmd-Shift-Alt-A.templatescriptd
  3. In DT3 go to file menu: Data > New From Template > Open Templates Folder
  4. Paste the copied file

It should now be visible in the menu as usual.

I should add that you are correct “annotation” is a general word. In my other post, I was referring to the annotations view (in the right sidebar), which allows one to see the comments and highlights made on PDF documents. You are referring to DT2’s annotation template (as referenced above in this post). So two completely separate functions, but sharing the same word “annotation”.

This is fine to do.
