I have a nice script I want to run using the ` key, aka the “backtick” or “grave.”
The shortcut filename is:
Priority-NULL___Alt-Ctrl-`.scpt
which doesn’t work. Chat told me to use
Priority-NULL___Alt-Ctrl-Grave.scpt
but this also fails.
Does anyone know which characters are illegal in DEVONthink script shortcut filenames?
Vielen Dank!
looks like an “ok” file name for macOS to me. What was the exact error message and which app raised it?
Is the shortcut actually shown in the Scripts menu?
Yes, but the illegal character has removed the shortcut.
Here are the actual AppleScript script filenames as they appear in the Finder:
CSH_Priority-NULL-B___Alt-Ctrl-0.scpt
CSH_Priority-NULL-A___Alt-Ctrl-`.scpt
And here is the image of the DEVONthink scripts menu. As you can see, NULL-A has no corresponding shortcut command:
Currently only alphanumeric shortcuts are supported. Alternatively you could also assign a shorcut via System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts
