Is it possible (in the near future?) to make (or add an option such that) WikiLinks square brackets work so that after the closing brackets are entered, the text is not shown with the brackets?
This: Here is a link to the WikiLink document.
Not This: Here is a [[link]] to the WikiLink document.
The reason I do not want to see the square brackets is because a couple of times I accidentally deleted the last closing square bracket which automatically removes the link. What I do now as a workaround is to first create the document I want to link and then copy/pate the link into the original file.
Btw, that is how it works in Scrivener: once the last square bracket is entered, the link is created minus the brackets.

In Markdown, the square brackets aren’t rendered.
Development would have to assess the feasilibity in other formats.

By the way, the brackets have sometimes been buggy.
I would use them to create a document, and when I click on the text within the brackets:
- the new document would contain only part of the word string in the Name and/ or
- every time I click on the text within the brackets, a brand new file is created
This does not happen all the time, but it has happened in the past which is why I use the work around for the most part: create the document I want linked separately and then add it to the document where I wanted the WikiLinks.
We have no other reports of this.
- Are you able to reproduce it consistently?
- What kind of names would you be using, e.g., ones containing unusual characters, punctuation, etc.?
I cannot reproduce it consistently. When this occurred, the names were the usual characters and possibly a question mark.
