XMenu Preferences

I Like xMenu but I cannot figure out how to access the preferences. The Readme says:

     Start XMenu and activate the desired global menus (by default only the applications menu is
     activated) and options in the preferences panel (see below). XMenu uses the icons of the target folders
     and files. So if you don’t like 'em or want to accelerate XMenu, set the option “Icons” to “None”
     or use generic icons for folders or all items.

Since xMenu is a faceless app I cannot get a Preference menu item option for the program and I have looked for the xMenu preference panel in the System Preferences program. To no avail.

What am I doing wrong? How do I get to the xMenu preferences?

The XMenu menues appear on the right hand side of the menu bar. Command-click them to see the options and a menu command to open the preferences.
