How about a Markdown editor?
I don’t understand your question as there’s already the capability to edit Markdown in DEVONthink.
Is there a way to assign markdown formatting, say to a list of items to make them bulleted, numbered, etc?
If you have a markdown file, the usual MD “tags” (for lack of a better word) do the formatting. That’s not a DT3 issue, and MD formatting is described at length elsewhere.
If you want to format MD, you can use CSS (e.g. to have blue bullets for unordered lists or bigger linespacing or a pink background). Again, that’s explained in the DT3 documentation.
If however, you’re talking about plaintext, you can of course apply whatever characters you need and want to lists to make them bulleted, numbered etc. There’s just no automatism in this case, i.e. you have to do the numbering yourself.
