Just attempted to do a Zip archive to an external USB flash drive. My 7.5 GB database failed. I checked what was on the flash drive and it was a 4.5 GB Zip file.
What do you mean by "My 7.5 GB database failed.”?

Is there sufficient space on the thumb drive?
How much free space is on your internal drive?
It’s a 30 GB drive with 29.5 left. My internal is a 1 TB with 500 GB left.
The thumb drive is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT32), if that makes any difference.
I would try creating the archive on your desktop and see if it behaves differently.
