The changes to the editor since version 4 and especially the last 4.4 update are fantastic.
I felt that a lot of attention went to AI in the past and that the “non-AI” crowd got a bit neglected.

I agree, a BIG thank you to the DT team for all the new features that have been released this year!
I’ve been a Devonthink user since version 2, and this is the year I’ve been the happiest using it for my day-to-day work.
I’m a software developer and with the advent of agentic coding, we are now generating tons of Markdown files for feature ideas, implementation plans, bug explanations, code exploration, etc. Many of those md files shouldn’t be committed to the git repository because they become outdated fast. But, they are still valuable as records for what happened and why decisions were taken at certain moments. And so, I’ve been storing all those artifacts, including screen and video captures, inside a Devonthink database, where I can organize them by Epics and features.
Devonthink has now become my “command & control” center, where everything starts. As soon as the first idea arises, I create a new Markdown file in DT and start developing it, and when I feel it is ready, I pass it to the coding agent to either expand or implement. All the artifacts the agent generates are then pulled back into Devonthink.
All the improvements to the Markdown editor, the MCP, and the AI tools have substantially changed how I do my software development work. And I’m loving it.
