Activate smart rule when new markdown added in obsidian

I have an AppleScript which adds the DEVONthink item link to the end of a newly created markdown file.

  • The smart rule and script work when the md file is created inside DEVONthink or On Demand.
  • My obsidian folder is indexed into DEVONthink.

When I create a new md file within obsidian the smart rule doesn’t start.

Under perform the following actions, I tried ‘On Clipping’ which according to the DEVONthink help " Runs when documents are added via clipping, e.g., via menu commands, the Sorter , DEVONagent, bookmarklets, or AppleScript.". I hoped this would cover other external file creations as well.

Is there something else I can try?

That is not a clipping operation, so that will not work.
You need to use On Import.

Care to share how you are accomplishing the addition of the item link on import?
