Add Data>New Address Fails

Tried to add new address card: Data>New From Template>Addresses & Dates>Address Book Card.

Got the following error whether Contacts was open or not:

Contacts got an error: An error of type -1743 has occurred.

What’s up with that?

Edit:

Just noticed that I cannot import Address Book. Perhaps because it is now named Contacts?

Running OS X 10.9.3 (13D61)

The only time I recall getting an error when using this template is if I have not selected a contact in the Contacts app. Even then, the error dialog indicates that rather than giving an error code. I can also import an address book just fine, using 10.9.3 here as well.
