Add file to DTTG with current date

On the Mac it‘s easy to add files to DEVONthink with a current date like yyyy_mm__dd_MM_hh_ss with smart rules or Hazel

But on iPad it seems much more difficult?
Is there a way to add a file to the global inbox via sharesheet and a Shortcut adds the current date to the file name?

Or another way to do that?

Thanks!

This isn’t a DEVONtech issue. Mac and mobile are not the same platform and automation on Apple mobile is weak compared to what can be done on the desktop.

Also, you need to be more clear in such inquiries. There is no singular file out there. Is it an email, Markdown, web clipping, picture,………?

Well, you can use the Format Date action in Shortcuts:

And do something like this:

Link: CreatedDateName

But it doesn’t run automatically. Instead you could set up a smart rule on the Mac that adds a date to the filename after sync.

In most of the cases it‘s a PDF

On the Mac I use a shortcut that triggers Hazel to do the job.

DEVONthink on macOS offers smartrules which I also use often.

But for working on iPad only tried to find a way to have an easy way naming the files.

I give shortcuts (iPadOS) a try. Thanks for your advice!
