I have around 60Gb data in 8 databases with more than 50,000 tags from which I use occassionally around 20. Would it make sense to delete nearly of them? Will it help to considerably decrease the sizes of databases?
Thanks!

Yes, I would certainly remove extraneous tags with that number. An extra 30-50 may not be the biggest deal in the world but
See this blog post:
It is not an extra 30-50 but 50,000… Is there any way of deleting them in groups - or all of them - as now I can do it only one-by-one which makes the job impossible
Thank you for the article, I switched off the RSS tags as they might be the cause for the huge number
Thanks for your help!
I suggest you sort to get the “odd” (say numbers only or certain prefixes) ones perhaps grouped the select with normal macOS multiple selection keys then press trash icon. Selecting a few dozen or more at a time should work.
What do you mean by this?? Why would you have to do them one-by-one?
Just ctrl-click and delete. I could get rid of your 50k tags in 50 seconds. Haha.
You could flag the tags you want to keep. Then do a search for kind is tag and marked is unflagged.
I think click on the first tag in the results then shift-click on the last item will let you delete the ones you don’t want.
Would that help?
Might do a backup first. Not a sync, a backup to archive.
