Any real difference between DT Link and Hook's link?

I use the Links feature quite a lot. When I’m outside DT, I use Hook. Works great. If I want to create a link from a document in DT to something outside DT, is there are meaningful difference between using Hook’s link and DT’s link?

DEVONthink’s item links are sufficient in most cases and similar links provided by other apps can of course used be in DEVONthink too (as bookmarks, in the URL field, in the body or metadata of documents etc.).
