Forwarding mail seems convoluted (edit; if using Apple Mail)
My solution was to create a special mailbox (Devonthink)
and simply move the email
keep a rule running … scripting tools
I use a custom applescript that makes use of DT provided script
Add mailbox(es) & attachments to DEVONthink
The topic of this thread is how to get an email into DTTG while on iOS. Users may be running mail clients on iOS that are not running on their Macs, thus forwarding those emails so the Mac could process them would have to be the first step. Otherwise, yes, if all a user’s email accounts are set up on the Mac that duplicate what’s in iOS, then all the emails will automatically show up in DTTG since the Mac is exporting them to DT.
I don’t follow. Nowadays, your mail is most probably handled by an IMAP server. So, there’s no need to “forward” emails from an iOS device to a Mac (how would one even do that?); just pointing the mail client on the Mac to the same IMAP server is enough.
E-mail clients are much like browsers: They may store local copies of documents to access them faster, but they are basically talking to a server.
Again, the topic of this thread is about how to get an email into DTTG while on iOS. This assumes the user does NOT have an IMAP email address set up on both macOS and iOS, or they would not have this problem. For example, the user may have an email address on their phone that is not on their Mac, for various reasons. This is why forwarding to the Mac email address that can process the script putting it into DT would be necessary.

I have not read the whole thread, but responding to the question / title of this thread: I just drag and drop the email from the ios mail app into the dttg inbox.
