Apple notes backup: share individual notes to DT preserves attached PDFs in notes whereas batch import does not

DEVONthink 3.9.14 Sonoma latest version
If I share an individual Apple Note to DEVONthink, the whole note is preserved including attached inline PDFs
If I backup or import all Apple Notes into DEVONthink via Files → Import → Folders and Attachments from Notes, the attached files (PDFs, etc) are saved in bulk in an attachments folder (instead of within individual notes) and it’s a huge pain in the neck to reconstitute the original notes. Could this be improved ? It must be doable because it works for individual notes via the share menu (please note that I cannot share multiple notes at a time or even a folder to DEVONthink).
thanks in advance for your time and help

You are referring to two entirely different mechanisms. Sharing and AppleScript aren’t the same thing.

(please note that I cannot share multiple notes at a time or even a folder to DEVONthink).

That would be an Apple issue and likely due to there not being actual files or folders involved in the filesystem.

… because Notes, like Apple Photos, stores its data in an SQL database now. Not documented, of course. A PITA to work with.

Yes, like many apps have switched to in the last 5+ years.

thank you @BLUEFROG and @chrillek

You’re welcome.

Alto for Apple Notes
This a cool looking little app that does some fun stuff with Apple Notes. Not sure if it makes Notes any more useful with DT. I’ve completely (99.9998889%) given up on Notes.
