# archived results different the # of hits in search window

I’m trying to understand why I get 95 hits with my search query, but in the matching archive window I see only 55 items?

When I tick the Archive results box under Actions I thought that all results are saved under the name of the default query.

Or is there any check if the found url was found in other (similar) searches?

Maybe the results were already archived by another search? The archive skips duplicates.

That sounds like an explanation, so the Archive is saving results per search only if the ULR is not already somewhere in the archive (other groups from prev. searches).

That makes sense but the manual states " Archive Results: Add all found pages to the internal archive",
I think that’s a bit misleading, as people (like me) may think it’s a complete archive to that defined search.

Anyway, clear for me now.
