Archiving new emails

I found that archived mails I moved with a smart rule to a different database, are archived again. Does this works as expected/implemented?

Seen behaviour:

  1. After sync: about 9800 Mails

  2. After move with Smart rule: 0 Mails

  3. After sync: about 9800 Mails + new ones

Since previously imported emails are excluded from the mailbox view, subsequent visits to the Import sidebar will only show newly received emails. Using the Archive Mailbox option will import only those new emails into the existing Emails group in the database.

While a set up the mail archiving, I found this text in DT’s help. From this I thought, that only new mails are archived. What do I miss?

I use Mail.app as mail client. DT is 4.1.

The import configuration

The smart rule #1 - Inbox > Emails → Inbox

The smart rule #2 - Inbox → other databases

All other smart rules - just adding tags and removing images attachments and the like

Only emails already existing in the destination database are filtered (and the numbers shown in the sidebar are not relevant here), therefore you should directly import/archive the emails to the desired database and then apply your smart rules.

Ok. Thanks.
