(automated) postscript to PDF conversion

I’m still on MacOS Monterey with DT most because I use a number of specialised applications of which I’m not sure yet they would work with MacOS Sonoma.

But also largely because I’ve a very big collection of Postscript (PS) documents. The PS documents still outside DT I can convert using a script. But I’ve also a lot of PS documents in DT. I was wondering if DT has an (easy) feature to convert PS documents (automatically?) to PDF after I’ve moved to macOS Sonoma?

Does that still work with Sonoma, where some removed PS support?

No, this is not a feature of DEVONthink. And Apple deprecated processing of Postscript files in macOS Ventura going forward. I’d suggest using Acrobat as the Distiller functions have been bundled into it.

I’m running Ventura 13.6.5 and in DEVONthink and in the macOS Print dialog I can convert PS to PDF, and Save to Postscript. Perhaps it’s because I installed and use Ghostscript which provides the pstopdf program. Installed years ago so I don’t remember much more than it exists on my machines.

I guess when and if I move to Sonoma (I’m still waiting), I’ll ensure Ghostscript is installed.

This might be of use to the OP @nanitous before upgrading to Sonoma.

Did you try Data > Convert > to (paginated) PDF on Monterey?
