I am running the latest DEVONthink 4 and when a new document is added to the Inbox the chat suggestion tags are automatically being added to the document:
I frequently notice that these jobs are hanging. For example the following is visible for at least the last two hours:
I checked the *.log files in Application Support/DEVONthink directory, checked the log window and there is nothing that tells me what the problem is.
Can someone suggest how this issue can be debugged? Is there some additional logging I can enable?
Stopping and Starting DEVONthinkis the only “solution” I have seen to fix this.
Which model did you use and what kind of documents did you tag?

I assume this is the setting of Chat, right?
I am assuming that all documents that have a text component are being tagged. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I want to add that the process is still hanging. My main point is that if my configuration is somehow wrong, or if there is a network problem, or something else it should be logged somewhere so I can report it back to the DEVONthihk team.
Images are also tagged in this case as GPT-5 supports vision.
