I read online that the Preview of BigSur can destroy PDF created with Abbey.
is this something I should be concerned about, while using Devonthink?
In my experience that happens when PDF has some kind of DRM (copy, edit, annotate protection) and you “touch” the PDF adding/removing pages or using programs that do not honor DRM. The “encryption” is broken, then the text does not passes anymore for the decoding key and the result is garbage.
I reported a bug in one of Bug Sur versions related to Abbyy MRC compression that made PDFs unusable even for viewing.
So and then I have that kind of issues in macOS, but not sure who is guilty. Currently I’m using PDF Expert in all my macs and hadn’t any issue since then (or any issue I’m aware of).
