Blog v Forum – which is best?

What’s the difference between your website blog and your forum?. 09:17 and counting…

A very unusual question that is quickly answered by comparing the publication channel nature of the blog with the bi-directional communication nature of the forum.

errrr, can I have that in plain English please?

The answer was clear to me. And even if it wasn’t, as @eboehnisch said, just a cursory look at the two things makes the difference crystal clear.

In plain English, the DT blog is a one-way communication channel where the author shares information with readers. On the other hand, the forum is a multi-faceted communication channel where users can engage in discussions, ask questions, and share their thoughts.

Blog v Forum – which is best?

…best for what? Perhaps specifying that would help us clear up your confusion.

Thank you for explaining, that was helpful. For someone with ADHD certain concepts can be difficult to process, though I think a one-way communication channel is not much good without the model being open to feedback – like broadcasting into the ether with no response. At all. I’m off from here to try my luck on the forum……

The blog posts are mirrored here on the forum, and you’ll notice that posts published on the website include a link to discuss it on the forum:

Oh yeah, never saw that thanks. So it’s a one-way communicaton/announcement with options to establish two or more communications elsewhere. I’ll give that a go now.

It was a test. Both a simple question and could generate a complex answer. As with everything I write because I am a jeanius when it comes to communication, there was a joke associated with it. Maybe I was channelling my sub-conscious inner relational database self……. I like to question and test things, especially in my first encounter with the corporate big beast with a dumb name….. catch you later on the forum unless a funny thing happens to me on the way there of course.

You know, took me a while to clock that DT was short for DEVONthink. I thought it was something to do with heavy drinking. Sorry DEVONthink. But that would be Dt wouldn’t it?

DT is a common abbreviation amongst our userbase.
DTTG for DEVONthink To Go too.

What does that mean? I’ve never seen that word before.

The bloke who invented denim, he was a jeanius.

I had to ask Copilot to understand the humor of EasyZyder!!! :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

Very brilliant.

And there’s me thinking that it meant Delirium Tremens “trembling madness.” Severe alcohol withdrawal symptoms: shaking, hallucinations, confusion. First formally described around 1813. Your DTs ain’t the real DTs buddy…………. Think I’ll go for a drink before tackling the forum.
