Suggest keeping Bonjour active for when the Mac is active. no need to turn off even if turning on a cloud service.
People report mixed success with Apple’s services. Good luck.
Bonjour has been terrible for me. I suffered a lot because it was constantly failing (The local sync is a huge frustration).
My life is better after I gave up with it and moved to Dropbox.

For future readers of this thread, best to understand that Bonjour is not Local Sync. They are two different sync methods, as fully explained in the “DEVONthink Manual”.
Bonjour is one of three sync methods I use (others being local NAS WebDav and Dropbox as the only cloud-based method) with no issues.
