Browswer Clipping to RTF creates Bookmark instead

This has been happening for a while, but today was the first time I thought befrehand to capture it.

When I go to Clip to DEVONthink using the Safari menu icon, I usually clip to Rich Text. The URL I was on is (I’ve not cut out any of the tags embedded in the URL, so it’s long):

This is how I’m clipping:

After it thinks a long time, I get this notification:

Here is the DT4 log entry, including the last time it happened:

Then, when I do it again, I get this notification:

But the page looks like this:

I am 99.999% sure that the content clipped is a result of the paywall, which I understand, so no issues with that. I usually just copy the article and paste over what there, because the meta data was captured in the file.

Speaking of clipping paywalls, would it be possible to add the login info in DT4 so it could log in behind the scenes and capture? I know this is probably what the internal browser is for in DT, but I never think to use it.

I just clipped the page (without a login so i got very little) but I did get an RTF file.
You could use one of the bookmarks in DEVONthink and log into the site to set a cookie for the site. Then you could potentially view and clip the content from within our app.

I’d recommend the Take Rich Note service instead as it’s more reliable, grabs only the selected text and stores the URL too.
