I’m not particularly familiar with AI. Is there one that I could “give” the DT manual (PDF) to and the AI would translate it with all texts and pictures in German in the same layout? Or has someone perhaps already done this? Thanks.
Try feeding it to DeepL. But I doubt that it’ll preserve the layout or translate the screenshots.
Since DT is a German company, probably a German language manual already exists.
@BLUEFROG is the main author of this outstanding document and all indications are he is not a German language person.

Good idea. Most inquiries are answered by @BLUEFROG, who certainly understands it much better when I ask in German… wasn’t meant to be nasty, but ironic. 
I assume that there is no German manual. What would be a clever (and the easiest way) to translate it? Maybe someone has experience. Perhaps there is an AI that “magically” translates this PDF and it then looks exactly like the original … but probably not.
Translating the manual may be possible with a RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) AI, but it wouldn’t be free. Also, the entire document would likely not be processed. Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet may be able to do this as an artifact, but I would suggest you split the document into chapters and I can’t say if it will complete an entire chapter.
who certainly understands it much better when I ask in German…
PS: I only understand translations provided by macOS (for the gist of something) or DeepL (when I need to respond). Otherwise, I only know a smattering of German.

Ich habe dazu die App „Translatium
“ für den MacBook als Einmalkauf, kein Abo, nicht teuer, gekauft. Darin übersetze ich die Dokumente, die ich auf deutsch haben möchte. Die PDF oder sonstiges Dokument einfach hineinziehen und dann als PDF-Dokument oder Markdown oder als Text in DT3 speichern. Fertig.
Also in einem “Rutsch”. Ich habe mir die Qualität der Übersetzung noch nicht genauer angesehen, aber viel besser als nichts ist das in jedem Fall. Bei Unklarheiten kann ich ja immer noch das Original beiziehen. Nochmals vielen Dank dafür, dass du mir das zur Verfügung gestellt hast. 
Sehr gerne. Genauso mache ich es auch. Deutsche Übersetzung in Verbindung mit dem englischen Original geht super.
Mir fällt gerade ein, ich habe über meine Arbeitgeberin vermutlich Zugang zu einer anderen KI, die das auch können sollte. Wenn das etwas wird, schicke ich dir das. Dann haben wir zwei Kauderwelsch-Übersetzung, über die wir uns den Kopf zerbrechen können
